After writing a tip each week for a little more than 14 years it is time to look back. I have written 348 tips in danish. Most of the tips are based on my own ideas, but I have also received help from you, dear readers. Thank you for that.

I soon discoved that there were mainframe freaks from english speaking contries that visited my web site written purely in danish. I still wonder what you learned. Well, I decided to translate my danish tips to english in 2001. After some years I discovered that I found it difficult to come up with a new idea even every fortnight. As a consequence I started translating two danish tips before writing a new one in danish.

Four years have passed with a tip in danish followed by two tips in english. It cannot continue this way any longer. In the future I will only publish a new tip in danish once a month. The same thing will eventually happen with the english translations.

I have never published any statistics about the popularity of my web site. After the start in 1998 the number of visitors increased slowly by surely and reached a peak of about 150 to 200 visitors on an average working day two years ago. Since then the number of visitors has declined a little and is now stable around 125 to 175 visitors each working day.

I also started a LinkedIn group. It was my hope that it could be used for exchange of ideas, but it has not quite worked as I hoped. Instead the group gives an idea of where the users of my web site comes from. My web site is used the most by americans. Half as many come from India sharply followed by almost the same number of danes. There are members from six continents so people from all over the world are represented.

I will finish this tip by giving you a tip about searching in my tips which some of you already are familiar with. Type in your search words in Google followed by the word site:mainframesupport.dk which will make google search only in my web site. For many years Google did not like my web site, but now Google is at most one week behind. Using Google as described is a good alternative to my quite simple search engine.
